Caring for Your Sibol Piece

Your Sibol Studio piece is made to be worn, loved, and enjoyed. Some of our pieces use naturally dyed or eco-printed fabrics, created with natural materials such as avocado leaves, mango leaves, onion skins, and other plant-based ingredients. Some pieces may also use deadstock, excess, or existing fabrics that have been given a new purpose.

Because of the nature of these materials and processes, your piece may require a little extra care. These simple steps will help preserve its color, print, shape, and overall quality for as long as possible.

Hand wash gently

We recommend hand washing your Sibol Studio pieces in cold or cool water, especially pieces that are naturally dyed or eco-printed.

Use a mild, gentle detergent and avoid harsh cleaning products.

Do not scrub aggressively, brush the fabric, or rub printed or dyed areas against each other, as this may affect the fabric, color, or print.

Wash separately

Wash your Sibol Studio pieces separately from other clothing, particularly during the first few washes.

Because some fabrics are naturally dyed, some color transfer may occur. Washing separately helps prevent color from transferring onto your other clothes and helps prevent other garments from transferring color onto your Sibol piece.

When washing more than one Sibol piece together, we recommend grouping pieces with similar or darker colors.

Do not soak for long periods

Do not leave your Sibol Studio pieces soaking for extended periods.

Prolonged exposure to water and detergent may affect naturally dyed fabrics, colors, prints, and fabric integrity.

Gently wash, rinse thoroughly, and remove from the water once clean.

Do not bleach or use harsh chemicals

Do not use bleach, whitening agents, fabric brighteners, stain removers, or other harsh chemicals on your Sibol Studio pieces.

These products may alter the color, damage the fabric, or affect natural dyes and eco-printed designs.

Do not tumble dry

Do not tumble dry your Sibol Studio pieces.

After washing, gently squeeze out excess water. Do not wring or twist the garment aggressively, as this may stretch or distort the fabric.

Gently reshape the piece while damp before drying.

Air dry in the shade

Air dry your Sibol Studio pieces in a well-ventilated, shaded area. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Natural dyes and pigments can gradually change or fade with prolonged exposure to strong sunlight. Drying in the shade helps protect the color and appearance of your piece.

Avoid high heat

Avoid exposing your Sibol Studio pieces to high heat, including hot water, high-heat dryers, and prolonged direct heat.

If ironing is necessary, use a low-temperature setting and place a clean cloth between the iron and the garment, particularly over naturally dyed or printed areas.

Handle with care

Please remember that each Sibol Studio piece is unique. Natural dyes, eco-printing, and the use of deadstock, excess, or existing fabrics given a new purpose can naturally result in subtle variations in color, texture, markings, and print.

These variations are part of the character of your piece and are not considered imperfections.

With the right care, your Sibol piece can stay beautiful for longer.
